This movie really didn't work for me. I think visually it looked good. The war scenes are well done and the acting was decent, though I think Phoenix was miscast here. Ultimately, the film bored me. I think the problem here is the film tries to tackle too much and ends up not really exploring much of anything. So the film never really ends up telling anything in a compelling way. You just see various events just happen but at don't ever dig very deep to explore these characters. It's not necessarily terrible, but it isn't very good either. 5.5/10
