While vacationing at a remote cabin, a young girl and her two fathers are taken hostage by four armed strangers who demand that the family make an unthinkable choice to avert the apocalypse. With limited access to the outside world, the family must decide what they believe before all is lost.
I got to say, I wasn't a huge fan of this one. I don't think it's without any merit. Dave Bautista did give a surprisingly good performance and dug many of the directing choices. But the writing just wasn't good. There was a lot of bad dialogue, honestly wasn't really a fan of Ben Aldridge in this movie. Part of it was his character just wasn't well written, but his performance felt a little melodramatic. The use of flashbacks in this story was quite intrusive and never added anything of substance to the story, it established what we already knew, they were a gay couple who adopted a kid. And really that's all there is to these characters. And Aldridge's character hated the world I guess because everyone hates gay people apparently. Not sure that you can really use that as justification for his characters behavior in 2023. It was also quite predictable and one note as a story. Really interesting premise though, just wasted with a bad script and flat characters. 5/10
