It was well intentioned, but unfortunately is failed by an awful script. The film lacks any nuance, thus has nothing meaningful to say other than have some empathy. Well okay, great, but then what? Empathy and love, unfortunately can't solve everything. It's important, but homelessness is an issue that has many factors. And if you can't address those, than you can't really help a whole lot. It's a shame, because this is a really important issue. Perhaps a better film could adequately dig a little deeper and handle it with more nuance. Also just waiting around for the government to step in is a lost cause, and quite frankly probably not a real solution anyway. All that aside, I would also say the acting is mostly not great. Some performances are ok. But the main issue is the writing. There are way too many storylines it's trying to tell at once and as a result nothing really hits. I really kinda hated how they handled the Baldwin characters storyline. So many things poorly handled to be honest. Overall I'd give it a 3/10.
