1 review for Nuremberg
Even though I don't think this film quite reaches it's potential of what it could be, it's still pretty solid. I think the film sometimes drags it's feet, doesn't quite move along at a great pace. It could have explored topics covered a bit more effectively. Sometimes it's feels like it only skims the surface of some of the characters. I wish it covered the trials a little more than it did. But what I did love was the performances of both Rami Malek and Russell Crowe they both did a great job in their respective roles and are the primary reason I think the film ultimately ends up working. The dialogue that they have is very compelling even if sometimes not digging as deep as I'd like it to. I'll also say the film feels very timely in it's messaging. I love that they mention in the movie that the Nazis really aren't any different than us in terms of the evils we are capable of. If we are not careful, and refuse to stand firm in good principles and instead just let atrocities happen that is how you get to what happened. And when you have movements or leaders that instill hate into those who subscribe or follow them we put our society at large in danger of repeating some of these types of atrocities. While we aren't on the level of Nazi Germany at this present point, it'd be a bit ignorant to not at least recognize that hatred like unto what existed then is continually building in society. This includes the Jews, but it's not exclusive to the Jewish people. We see hate for so many groups and it's unfortunate when people refuse to call out this for what it is and just let it happen. Hate knows no bounds. It doesn't belong to a single political party or group. If you believe that it does, then you are turning a blind eye to some of the hatred that does exist. Anyway these are just thoughts that come to mind from the messages of this film, and it's a really important one So overall I did really like it. It wasn't as emotional or impactful as it could be, but it's still worth a watch. 8.5/10
